Teka Bekuma Abdisa, PhD
Dr. Teka Bekuma Abdisa is an assistant professor of environmental science and senior researcher at Wollega University, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, Ethiopia. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management with a specialization in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation from Jimma University, an M.Sc. in Geography and Environmental Education from Addis Ababa University, and a B.Sc. in Geography and Environmental Studies from Haramaya University. With nearly two decades of academic and professional experience, including more than fifteen years in higher education teaching, research supervision, and leadership, he has established himself as a distinguished scholar and mentor in climate change, environmental management, and sustainable development.
His research integrates science, policy, and practice with emphasis on climate change adaptation and mitigation, natural resource management, resilient agriculture, environmental governance, pollution control, gender–environment–development linkages, indigenous knowledge, and disaster risk management. He also advances environmental education and awareness, producing work that informs both scholarship and real-world solutions. Through collaborative research, field engagement, and partnerships with national and international stakeholders, Dr. Teka contributes to sustainability and community resilience. He remains deeply committed to public service and capacity-building through training, consultancy, workshops, and volunteer initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Teka’s international research presence is reflected in publications and contributions indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, alongside active collaborations worldwide. His professional dedication combines academic excellence with applied impact, advancing knowledge and practice in environment, climate change, and sustainability.
