Ahmed Abubakar (PhD)

Dr. Abubakar is a lecturer in the Department of Geography at Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Nigeria. He is an environmental scientist leading participatory and interdisciplinary research to enhance the understanding of climate change policy and governance, focusing on managing these aspects to attain sustainable social and ecological benefits. His work focuses on sustainability, environmental policy and governance, climate change, community-based natural resource management, co-innovation, knowledge transfer, energy transition, and community development. He also specializes in digitalization, agroecology, and agricultural transitions to sustainability, especially in rural livelihoods. Abubakar applies the theory of change and systems thinking to bridge various scales, from individual to community, in order to develop and share insights into sustainable development practices. Abubakar leads initiatives that advance interdisciplinary research, policy innovation, and stakeholder engagement for a more sustainable and resilient future.
